Abstract
In this work, we describe and characterize the evolution of the Geology education, in Portugal, with particular prominence for the period that goes since de creation of the first secondary schools until the Fifties of the century XX. In order to achieve these goals, we analyzed legal documentation, in parallel, with the analysis of the textbooks associated to each one of the programmatic reforms, seeking to identify through the introduction of a historical view, continuities and ruptures that help to characterize the evolution of Geology education.
